Soccer Retail Shop?
I'm thinking of opening a retail shop which specializes with soccer apparels. Most of the jerseys brands are Adidas, Nike, and Puma etc. When I go to a regular soccer shop and see the tag for a particular team (ex. Real Madrid), it says made in China or another jersey that is made from Thailand. So I went to my books and start reading about the manufacturers. Basically, I could buy the merchandise that I need in to sell in bulk. But I'm stuck in one thing. I couldn't find the official Adidas manufacturers. Are they in China? Thailand? Or simply Adidas in German. My question basically is "From who am I suppose to buy the merchandise that I'm sell in my shop? Original manufacture (Adidas) or a manufacture in China (Eastern Asia)?"
Please, I need as much detail as possible.

My take would be that if you are going to have a shop focusing on soccer, then go with the certified brand and a local supplier of jersey material. Some people will want the brand name apparel and others will be more cost conscious, for instance, an elementary school soccer team.
Are you going to move enough apparel to justify the transportation costs from China? or can you find a distributor in this country that can satisfy your needs?
Break even = Fixed Costs / (Revenue – Variable Costs)
If it were me, I would call the Adidas rep and ask them what kind of deals they would give me vs. the amount of merchandise I was going to move 2x and 10x. This way, you can see where your pricing breaks come in when you move enough jerseys. This brings another factor in about splitting up the distribution - you won't get as many quantity discounts as you would with one supplier.
Another thing is, can you trust the supplier from china? It is much easier to be able to call your supplier or walk into their office and ask where your merchandise is.
I would stick with local until I had enough working capital to take a chance on someone foreign.
