What is the difference between small and young adults XL (Nike clothing sizes)?

I'll buy a football shirt from Nike, as well I wondered what the difference was between an adult and a small boy extra large. thanks in advance

Youth XL is wider and shorter and adults is longer and thinner. Personally, I would go with the small adult, particularly in Nike apparel!

For Americans who hate football (and I know not everyone does ).... Why?

I just wanted to know why some Americans hated football. I do not want to stereotype, but many of them may be ignorant and do not know much about the sport. When I was growing up, there was no local football team (the youth, high school, ...). It was introduced to football until I went to a game in college. I guess because I do not like the game do not really understand or know much on it ... but I can always take the time to learn.

Proper soccer nutrition will include a high quantity of complex carbohydrates eaten in the days leading up to the game, and ideally with a meal 3 to 4 hours prior to the game.  It is also wise to keep complex carbohydrates in your daily soccer nutrition plan, especially if you're attending strenuous practice sessions.

Many athletes report they get their best results eating grain based foods.  Some great examples would include pasta, whole grain breads, rice, and cereals.  Other foods you can eat that contain high amounts of complex carbohydrates are potatoes, beans, and corn.  Including these types of food in your soccer nutrition plan, will help greatly in avoiding the game time energy slumps.

Another component often overlooked as part of your soccer nutrition needs is water.  While water does not provide energy, or nutrients, it is essential to all parts of your body to keep it working properly.  Drinking plenty of water in the hours before a game or practice, and drinking water during activity, plays a key role in your bodies ability to function properly, and at a high level of energy.  If you become dehydrated, your body will quickly become less efficient, and your performance will suffer.  Including sports drinks as part of your hydration during a game is fine, the added electrolytes, and carbohydrates can help with maintaining energy during activity, but water intake is the most crucial.

You must also include protein as part of your soccer nutrition.  Protein is essential for the repair of your muscles, and general muscle health.  Soccer is a highly demanding sport, often pushing your muscles to the limit.  To keep you muscles strong, and to aid in increased strength, you should include meat, fish, poultry, or vegetable proteins as part of your daily diet.

Vitamins and other supplements can be used as part of your soccer nutrition, but should not be a substitute for eating properly.  Supplementation should only be considered for adult players.  Children should eat properly, and if their parent's or Doctor recommends, they can add a daily vitamin.

In summary, the best plan for your pregame soccer nutrition is to eat plenty of complex carbohydrates for sustained energy, and to make sure you drink plenty of water so you're fully hydrated before the start of the game.  If you follow these simple guidelines, you'll maintain better energy levels, and be able to avoid energy slumps.  Proper soccer nutrition can greatly enhance your game time performance.

Philadelphia Sports

It was December 15th, 1968. The Philadelphia Eagles were playing their final game of a dreadful regular season at their then-home stadium of Franklin Field.

The Eagles would eventually lose that day to the Minnesota Vikings and finish the year 2-12. Their two victories not only came after a 0-11 start but cost them any chance to draft USC running back O.J. Simpson.

At half time, the Eagles held a Christmas Pageant. Depending on which story you believe, the actor slated to play Santa Claus was either detained by traffic or booze.

In desperate need of a replacement Claus, organizers plucked Frank Olivo from the stands. He had worn a Santa suit to the game.

Olivo was 20-years-old, 5'6" and 170 pounds. He was not exactly your ideal Santa.

As soon as the frustrated Eagles fans got a load of "Olivo Claus" they started booing. Not just a smattering of boos but a cacophony of raucous jeers.

From there things got even worse. When Olivo reached the end zone he began to get pelted by a flurry of snowballs. Not one or two snowballs, but hundreds.

Sports fans in the City of Brotherly Love had harangued and harassed the most benign and inoffensive figure imaginable, Santa Claus.

This famous incident is often used to illustrate the gruffness of Philadelphia sports fans. While they tend to voice their displeasure frequently and vociferously, they are still some of the most knowledgeable and passionate sports fans in the country.

The city of Philadelphia is one of 12 metropolitan areas that has a team in each of the four major North American sports leagues: NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL.

Philadelphia is one of four cities in which all four major sports franchises play within the city limits. In fact, Philly's teams play within blocks of one another at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.

In 1980, Philadelphia became the only city to send all four of its major sports teams to their respective championship games. Unfortunately for Philadelphia fans only the Phillies were able to capture a title.

The city's National Football League team is the Eagles. They play in the NFL's marquee division of the NFC East.

Since 2003, the Eagles have called Lincoln Financial Field their home.

The franchise last won a champion ship in 1960 but they did reach the Super Bowl at the end of the 1980 and 2004 seasons.

The Phillies have been playing Major League Baseball since 1883. During that time they've won six National League pennants and two World Series, the last on coming in 2008.

The Phillies play their home games at Citizens Bank Park.

Perhaps the greatest third baseman of all-time, Mike Schmidt, played for the Phillies. Other notable Philly greats include Steve Carlton, Robin Roberts and Grover Alexander.

The 76'ers represent the city of Philadelphia in the National Basketball Association. The franchise has won three NBA titles but none since 1983.

The franchise originally started out as the Syracuse Nationals but moved to Philadelphia in 1963. They currently play at the Wachovia Center.

Throughout the years, the 76'ers have had some of the greatest NBA players on their roster, names like Wilt Chamberlain, Darryl Dawkins, Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley and Allen Iverson.

Also playing at the Wachovia Center is the Flyers of the National Hockey League. Part of the 1967 NHL expansion, the Flyers were the first non-Original Six team to win the Stanley Cup. The franchise won back-to-back championships in 1974 and 1975. They have not won a title since.

The next big professional sports franchise in Philadelphia is the Union. The team is scheduled to begin play in Major League Soccer in 2010. The "Zolos" will play at the soccer-specific Union Field at Chester. Located on the banks of the Delaware River, Chester is about 30 minutes southwest of Philadelphia.

Philadelphia is home to the Big 5, five Division 1 universities that field prominent collegiate basketball teams. The Big 5 is comprised of Temple, St. Joe's, Pennsylvania, Villanova and La Salle.

This quintet plays most of their games at the historic Palestra located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. The Palestra is also known as the Cathedral of College basketball.

Not a part of the Big 5, but still a Division I school in Philadelphia, is Drexel University. Their basketball team plays at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.

Of the aforementioned universities, only Temple has a Division I football team. Many Philadelphians find themselves rooting for the Penn State Nittany Lions.

The Lions play their home games at Beaver Stadium in State College, located about 200 miles from Philadelphia.

Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field is the frequent home of the annual Army/Navy game. The venue will host the event in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2013, 2015 and 2017.

In an article which talks about how Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was good because it showed a man leaving from prison and struggle in life. What is something good that comes out of video games? I know there are many negative aspects, but I have some positive things that can defend video games "enemies".

Video games are not all bad, however. Many skills can be learned by playing them. Some of the skills include problem-solving skills, perseverance, pattern recognition, hypothesis testing, estimating skills, inductive skills, management resources, logistics, mapping, memory, mental agility, and reasoned (Sheff 33). These video games permit the practice of skills that are often not incorporated into school curricula. They have also been seen to help build confidence in the normal child. Another potential positive is that video games allow the development of hand-eye coordination. However, baseball and other social activities also develop this ability. Video games can require a greater degree of coordination eye-hand for many other activities, but the question is how much hand-eye coordination is the average child need? Video games also mimic social structure. Video games allow a means by which to establish hierarchies of skill and ability, and ultimately leadership as in other areas of life. On the other hand, video games are one of the scenarios in which some children can be teachers, if adults take the time to participate and if they allow children to take initiative. "Involving children in an interactive experience, developing motor skills, hand eye, giving the child a sense of accomplishment, keep the child from the street, and only promoting the fun are all judged by many parents to be of high value or, at worst, benign (Tapscott 162). "Games Video can also be useful in other areas. Children who have problems with attention, self esteem, and limits are often aided by the experience gaming, and video games are being used in therapy for these children. Children who see themselves as failures also receive benefits from the games video, providing the player with a sense of participation and excitement in basic life and situations. Video games, in addition to "empower" some Children who have a difficult time in social situations. For example, a child who is an outcast may gain social status, because it's a videogame fan.
