Vinny returns to the Sol this year after
a standout rookie season in 2006. He served as
captain last season in league and open cup play, helping to take the Sol
to their 2006
USASA National Championship title. His season ended with NPSL
All-Star honors and
he hopes to continue his success with the Sol in 2007. His
favorite player is Cruyff and soccer
is his first crush. He likes to break dance and play the drums in
his band.
He says "forget Jello, there's always room for sushi." This season
he takes on administrative
positions as well as the Director of Camps for 2007. Look for him
on the field with the young
talent of Sonoma County this summer. His parents are Rita and
Carlo La Porta, and they can
be found all the way across the country in the state Maryland
