Kara played youth soccer for Santa
Rosa United and is a Montgomery High School alum.
While at
Montgomery, she was a
3-time All-League First Team selection and a 2001 and 2003
All-Empire
selection. During her freshman season at University of San Francisco, Breithaupt was
one of only two freshmen to start all 20 matches for the
Dons, which earned her a spot on the roster
for the West Coast Conference
Freshman Team. In 2005, she saw action in 15 games.
Kara's favorite player is Michelle Akers.
She enjoys soccer, sports, running biking and reading. Her
favorite foods are chocolate covered strawberries, pasta, salad and
Chinese food. She likes all kinds
of music, but especially country. Her family includes parents
Katharine and Jeff, and siblings Trent
and Krista.
