Competed from 1997-2004 for
the Santa Rosa United Heat and served as team captain. Heat won the
California North State Cup Championship six times (1998-2004) and won
tournaments, including the Surf Cup, President's Day and Nomads. The
Heat was a Kellogg's National Semifinalist and the 1998 Region IV champions.
Antonio was named the team's 2003 Player of the Year and was named the MVP
of the 2002 Tourney Sports USA tournament. Also a member of the U-18
California North ODP State Team.
At Montgomery, was a two-time
All-North Bay League honoree and helped lead Montgomery H.S. to a 20-1-1
record and league title in 2000 and a prep ranking as high as No. 4 in the
nation. In 2001, Montgomery won the North Coast Sectional championship
after being upset in the semi-finals a year earlier. He started every game
as a junior and senior and scored seven goals his final season from his
defender position. Played 1 year at SRJC, transferred to Ohio
state where he played in 15 games in the 2004 season. Son of Manuel and
Elvia Garcia and has three brothers, Juan (21), Lupe (16) and Andres (5).
