Sol  2-0 in PASL
 

December 17, 2005  Overcoming a 6 to 3 deficit at halftime, Sonoma County Sol indoor team defeated the Chico Rooks by a score of 9 to 8 tonight at Sports City. David Briceno lead the scoring with 5 goals. Others were by Miguel Santoyo, Andres Flores, Tony Bussard, and Bardon Parker.  Sol is now 2-0 in PASL league play after defeating the Sacramento Knights 5-3 last week.

The next game is Saturday, January 7 at 8:15 when Sol takes on the CV Express at Sports City.

 

 

 

Sol Men's Indoor

 

November 12, 2005  The Sol men's team indoor season will begin on December 17th.  Sol is playing in the Premier Arena Soccer League.  See the PASL Website for the Sol Roster and Schedule.

 

 

 

Women's Coach Recruitment Opens

 

October 27, 2005  Sonoma County Futbol Club has opened the recruitment for head coach of the newly formed woman’s team. The team will play in the National Woman’s Premier Soccer League, currently the highest level for women’s soccer in the United States.  Tryouts for the team are planned for February, with practices in March and April. League play begins the first of May and continues through August 1st.  Salary is to be determined. Interested applicants should email a resume to the Sonoma County Futbol Club secretary at  secretary@scfcsol.com.  The deadline for applications is November 15, 2005.

 

 

 

 

Dave Shaffer Selected as Men's Coach for 2006

 

October 13, 2005  Sol head coach, Dave Shaffer, was reappointed by the Sol Board for another season.   Recruitment is beginning for a head coach for the new Sol women's team. 

 

 

 

Four Sol Players Selected NPSL to Allstars

 

September 29, 2005  The National Premier Soccer League announced the Allstar teams for the Midwest and Western divisions. Four Sol players were selected as Allstars for the Western Division.  The player honored are forward Tony Bussard, Defenders Steven Purdy and Christopher (CJ) Sigler, and goalkeeper Eric Kronberg.

 

The Sacramento Knights, Chico Rooks and Salina Samba each had three players selected, while the Las Vegas Strikers and the Albuquerque Asylum had one each.
